Family Assessments

 

Being staffed entirely by consumers and/or family members, CSS is committed to the assurance that consumers and families have a strong voice in evaluating the services they are being provided.  

 

Currently, ensuing from a contract with the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and in promotion and support of a Recovery Oriented System of Care, CSS staff completes Peer Assessments for individuals admitted in any of the Pennsylvania State Hospitals and/or the Restoration Center.  

 

In addition, we initiate and complete Family Assessments with family members who support those individuals.  This process ensures that consumers and their families are allowed the opportunity to express their desires and wishes as they move to the future.  CSS advocates for the consumers and families in order to ensure that their voices are heard during the development of the Community Support Plans (CSP), a necessary tool for planning patient discharge.
